This handcrafted wooden barrel, available in various sizes, offers an original and traditional way to store liquids. Over time, the Swiss stone pine releases its active ingredients into the stored liquid, while substances from the liquid are absorbed by the wood. We therefore recommend not using the barrel for different liquids.
The essential oils in the Swiss stone pine also help keep bothersome insects away.
Details and description
The wooden barrel, made from pure Swiss stone pine, is crafted from individual pieces without glue. The staves are held in place by the base, lid and metal hoops. To ensure stability, the barrel rests on a stand, known as a trestle. The tap and bung (stopper) are made of beechwood. Beech is a hardwood and is perfectly suited to this purpose.

Instructions for use
Soak the tap in water for several hours
Before use, rinse the barrel thoroughly several times with lukewarm water
Carefully tap the tap into the barrel (using a rubber mallet)
Fill the barrel completely with lukewarm water and leave it to stand for 12 hours without the bung. The base and stave joints will swell and seal the barrel.
Now drain the water and fill the barrel with the desired liquid.
If there is a leak between the barrel and the tap, tap the tap in further or seal it with barrel sealant.
Repeat the process whenever the barrel dries out.
Warning: Do not fill with different liquids. The untreated wood absorbs substances and odors from the liquid
